Who I am, what I do, and why I do it.
I'm Jinchen Zhu — most people call me James. I work on sports marketing and brand partnerships at CAA China, based in Beijing. I hold a master's in Applied Communication Research from the University of Southern California, and a bachelor's in Sports Management with an economics minor from New York University. For the past few years I've worked at the intersection of sports, marketing and cross-cultural communication — from building social growth and endorsement strategies for NBA athletes like Devin Booker, Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, to sponsorship sales for properties including the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Cowboys. What I'm good at is turning scattered data and market insight into marketing plans people can actually execute — and I genuinely enjoy being the bridge between the US and Chinese markets.
